Frequently Asked Questions
What material is the Liberty Radiator made from?
The Liberty Radiator is built from high quality steel. We use steel because it is strong and heats up much faster than old fashioned metals. This gives you a modern heater that looks just like a classic antique one.
Why should I choose a steel radiator instead of cast iron?
Steel is a great choice because it is lighter and easier to install. It warms up your room very quickly when you turn the heating on. Real cast iron takes a long time to get hot but steel gives you comfort right away.
Does the Liberty Radiator look like a traditional cast iron model?
Yes it does. The Liberty collection is designed to copy the beautiful style of the Victorian era. It has the same column shape and classic details so it looks perfect in period properties or traditional homes.
What different heights can I buy in this range?
You can currently choose between two main heights. We have the 645mm version for standard spaces and the taller 865mm version if you need more heat or have higher ceilings.
How do I know which size radiator I need for my room?
You should use a BTU calculator to find the right size. This tool uses your room measurements to tell you how much heat power you need. Always pick a radiator that matches or goes slightly over that number to stay warm.
What is a BTU and why is it important?
BTU stands for British Thermal Unit. It is simply a way to measure heat power. A higher BTU number means the radiator gives out more warmth. Large rooms need a high BTU number while small bathrooms need a lower one.
Do these radiators come with the valves included?
No, the valves are sold separately. This is because every customer likes a different style. You can choose from manual valves or thermostatic valves depending on how you want to control the heat.
Which type of valves look best with the Liberty collection?
We recommend traditional style valves to match the classic look of the radiator. Brass, antique copper, or chrome valves look very stylish with the Liberty column design.
Can I mount the Liberty radiator on the wall?
Yes you can. These radiators are made of steel so they are light enough to be hung on most strong walls. Wall mounting is great because it keeps your floor clear for cleaning.
When should I use floor mounting feet?
You should use floor feet if your walls are not very strong like plasterboard walls. Feet support the weight of the radiator safely. Some people also just choose them because they like the traditional look.
What are wall stays and do I really need them?
Wall stays are small metal bars that tie the radiator to the wall. Yes we highly recommend them for safety. They stop the radiator from tipping forward if someone bumps into it.
Does this radiator heat up quickly?
Yes it heats up very fast. Because it is made of steel it conducts heat much better than thick cast iron. This means your house gets warm shortly after you switch on your boiler.
How many columns does the Liberty radiator have?
The Liberty radiators in this category feature a 2 column design. This means they have two vertical tubes in each section which gives a slim profile that fits well in hallways and living rooms.
Is the Liberty radiator hard to keep clean?
It is quite easy to clean. Dust can settle between the columns but you can wipe it away with a long duster. A helpful tip is to blow a hairdryer down the columns to push dust out from the bottom.
What is the warranty period for these products?
We offer a 10 year guarantee on the Liberty Radiator collection. We are very confident in the quality of our steel construction and want you to have total peace of mind.
Can I use this radiator with my existing central heating?
Yes the Liberty range works with all standard UK central heating systems. You do not need any special equipment to install it other than the correct valves.
Is this radiator suitable for a bathroom?
Yes you can install it in a bathroom. It provides excellent heat to keep your towels dry and the room warm. Just make sure you pick the right size for the space.
Do you offer different colors for the Liberty range?
Yes we have different finishes available. While classic white is very popular you can also find options like Anthracite and others to match your interior decor perfectly.
Will this radiator save me money on energy bills?
It can help save money because steel heats up fast. You do not have to run your boiler for hours waiting for the radiator to get hot. Using thermostatic valves with it will also help control costs.
How are the radiators delivered to my home?
We deliver them safely to your address. Since they are heavy items we recommend having someone help you bring them inside. Please check our delivery page for current shipping times.
