Admiral Traditional Angled Thermostatic Radiator Valves - Antique Brass

Enhance the character of your period property or traditional interior with the Admiral Traditional Angled Thermostatic Radiator Valve Set in Antique Brass. Expertly crafted to combine classic aesthetics with modern heating efficiency, this TRV set is the perfect finishing touch for your home, offering precise temperature control without compromising on style.

Timeless Design & Superior Craftsmanship

Finished in a rich antique brass, these radiator valves are designed to complement traditional cast iron radiators and classic home decor. The elegant, timeless silhouette of the Admiral range adds a touch of sophistication to any room. More than just a visual upgrade, these valves are constructed from high-quality materials to provide lasting durability and performance, backed by a comprehensive 10-year guarantee.

Versatile 4-in-1 Connection for Easy Installation

Designed with the installer in mind, the Admiral TRV features a highly versatile 4-in-1 inlet connection, accommodating 15mm & 22mm compression fittings as well as ½" & ¾" iron pipe. This flexibility makes it suitable for a wide range of heating systems, including older gravity-fed systems where a ¾" option is essential for adequate flow. The valve also includes two tail options (½" & ¾") for radiator couplers, simplifying your installation and ensuring a perfect fit.

Why Choose Our Traditional Thermostatic Radiator Valves?

Finding the balance between authentic period style and modern functionality can be challenging. Our Admiral valve set solves this by delivering the heritage look you desire with the precise, thermostatic control expected in a modern home. The antique brass finish is carefully applied to accentuate the valve's traditional contours, making it a standout feature rather than just a utility. And with our low price promise, you can achieve this high-end look without exceeding your budget.

Note on Installation: These valves include a frost protection feature. If you need to fully shut off the valve during installation or decorating, please use the provided decorators cap or a coin on the pin, as described in the manufacturer's instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions (7)

The product mentions a frost protection feature that prevents the valve from turning off fully. How do I overcome this to change my radiator?
This is a common safety feature. The thermostatic element is designed to keep the valve slightly open to prevent freezing, even on the off setting. For installation or maintenance, you can achieve a full mechanical shut off by either: 1 Replacing the thermostatic head with the supplied decorators cap, which pushes the internal pin down further, or 2 Removing the head, placing a small coin like a 5p piece on top of the pin, and re fitting the head. This extra pressure closes the valve completely.
What are the physical dimensions of this valve to ensure it fits my pipework layout?
The valve body has a height of 70mm, a width of 170mm, and a depth of 100mm. As an angled valve, it is designed for pipework emerging vertically from the floor. Please ensure you have adequate clearance from the wall and floor to accommodate these dimensions and allow for the thermostatic head to be turned comfortably.
Will this thermostatic valve work with my smart home heating system?
This is a standard, self regulating TRV Thermostatic Radiator Valve. It works independently by sensing the air temperature around it. It is not a smart valve and cannot be controlled via Wi Fi or a smart home hub. However, it is fully compatible with any boiler and control system; it simply replaces your existing manual or thermostatic valve to give you local temperature control for that specific radiator.
How does the angled configuration differ from a straight or corner valve, and which one do I need?
An angled valve like this Admiral has its inlet and outlet at a 90 degree angle. It is designed for pipework that comes up vertically from the floor. A straight valve has its inlet and outlet in a line, for pipework coming horizontally out of the wall. A corner valve or reverse angle is for pipework coming out of the floor directly behind the radiator. Choose based on how your pipes emerge.
The 10-year guarantee is reassuring, but what does it actually cover?
The 10 year guarantee is against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. It ensures that the valve body will not leak or fail structurally under normal operating conditions within a domestic water system. It typically does not cover wear and tear, such as the natural fading of the finish over time, damage from incorrect installation, or issues caused by system debris like flux or sludge that can damage the internal valve mechanism.
Is this valve suitable for use in a sealed or pressurised central heating system?
Yes, absolutely. The Admiral TRV is designed to be compatible with the pressures found in both open vented gravity-fed and sealed pressurised combi boiler central heating systems. Always ensure your system pressure is within normal domestic parameters typically 1 to 3 bar.
I want to use the matching pipe sleeves. How do they fit with this angled valve?
The matching pipe sleeve kit sold separately is designed to work seamlessly with this valve. The shroud slides over your 15mm copper pipe before you connect the valve. It sits flush against the floor or wall and butts up neatly against the bottom of the angled valve body, creating a continuous, professional look that conceals the pipe and adds a high end finish to the installation.
